The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals

AUDITION: Audition Video and Application due August 10th
INVITED CALLBACKS: August 17th
Show dates:
October 29, 30, 31 (matinee) and Nov 1 (matinee)
Rehearsals will begin August 24th and be held in the evenings (most likely T - F)
Final rehearsal schedule TBD
Please prepare 16-32 bars from a contemporary comedy style musical and have fun with it! Sides will be provided for callbacks. A headshot/photos required, but a resume is not. In lieu of a resume, please fill out the required application attached to the audition form.
This is a Theater360 production, which is the educational and community arm of West Valley Arts. Casting in these projects is unique to the program.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Everything in Hatchet Field seemed normal until people began singing... Then, they began dancing... And now, a musical pandemic is sweeping the entire city. It’s up to Paul (an average guy who doesn’t like musicals) and his friends to stop this musical apocalypse and fight for humanity’s future.
The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals is a horrifying new comedy musical from StarKid Productions, the creators of A Very Potter Musical, Firestarter and Twisted!
We will be accepting 10-15 diverse, funny, committed actors. This is a true ensemble production and wickedly funny. Please research and understand the content of this show and script.
Theater360 is for every level of performer.

STAR OF WONDER AUDITION NOTICE

Virtual Auditions Due: September 5
Callbacks: September 12
First Rehearsal: First week of October
Tech: Begins Nov 23 (Thanksgiving weekend off)
Performances: December 4-19 (total of 6 performances)
MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL TECH AND PERFORMANCES
Rehearsals: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6:30-10 and Saturday 9 am - 1 pm

For your virtual audition: Please slate with your name, height, and if you are available for callbacks. Please prepare the following: A 30 second monologue that highlights storytelling and a 30-45 second cut of one of the following five Christmas Carols (any version you would like is acceptable.)
