    From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over.

    The New York Times says SIX is “pure entertainment!” and the Evening Standard hails SIX as “the most uplifting new British musical I have ever had the privilege to watch.”

    HISTORY
    SIX made its world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017, presented by Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society. After a successful UK tour, the show opened on August 30, 2018 for a six-week run at the Arts Theatre in the West End. The current West End production, which opened on January 17, 2019, is now playing at the Lyric Theatre. In May 2019, SIX premiered in North America at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST). The Broadway production of SIX, scheduled to open on March 12, 2020, resumed performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on September 17, 2021, officially opening on October 3.

  • There is something especially fitting about producing SIX: Teen Edition as part of Theater360.

    At its heart, Theater360 exists to create opportunity: a place for young artists to learn, take risks, build confidence, and discover what they are capable of both onstage and off. Our goal isn’t simply to produce another show. It is to give the next generation of artists a space where their voices matter and where they can grow through the process of making theatre together.

    And SIX is, in so many ways, a story about finding your voice.

    When Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss began creating SIX as students at Cambridge University, they wanted to write a show that centered female and nonbinary performers. As they began researching the six wives of Henry VIII, they discovered women whose lives were far richer than the few words history had used to define them. Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr had largely been remembered through their relationships with one man — or reduced to the familiar rhyme of who was divorced, beheaded, died, or survived.

    Marlow and Moss chose instead to hand them the microphone.

    Through contemporary pop music, humor, and a very modern theatrical lens, SIX asks us to look again. These women become more than wives, more than rivals, and more than the endings history remembers them for. They get to tell their own stories and, ultimately, begin to understand that their worth does not come from whose suffering was greatest or from the man who happened to connect their names.

    What a wonderful story to place in the hands of young artists who are still discovering the power of their own voices.

    Watching this teen company take on these women has made that message especially meaningful. They have brought their own personalities, humor, strength, and perspective to the work while tackling a style of performance unlike anything we have previously produced through Theater360. They have been asked to be bold, vulnerable, disciplined, and completely themselves.

    I am incredibly grateful to the directors, designers, technicians, volunteers, families, and everyone who gave their time and talent to make this production possible. Thank you for creating a space where these young artists could stretch themselves, take risks, and shine.

    And most of all, thank you to our remarkable Six Cast. Theater360 is about creating opportunities for artists at every age and every stage of their journey, and about reminding them that there is a place for their voice in this art form.

    Five hundred years after these six women lived, their stories are still being reconsidered, reclaimed, and retold by a new generation.

    We think that is exactly what theatre should do.
